ACCA Qualification. . . Background The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was founded in 1904 and is one of the world’s largest and leading accountancy organisations, having more than 345,000 members in over 170 countries.
The ACCA Professional Scheme is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience and it’s members are internationally recognised in public practice, industry, commerce and public sectors.
ACCA qualification gives talented finance professionals the skills and opportunities they need to pursue a vide spectrum of roles, ranging from entrepreneur to company directorship and from business advisor to business leadership.
ACCA membership also allow you to obtain status as a Registered Auditor.
Entry Requirements There are a number of entry routes which take into account previous school leaver and graduate qualifications and allow you to study for the ACCA qualification. These are;
Professional Examination Route (PER) 2 A Levels + 3 GCSE (Including Maths and English) or local country equivalents.
Mature Student Entry Route (MSER) No standard entry qualification requirements. You will be given two years to pass papers F2 and F3 and then you have 10 years to complete remaining papers.
Exemptions You may be awarded some exemptions for Papers in part 1 and part 2 if:
- You have a relevant degree - You have a relevant professional qualification

Registering with ACCA All students who wish to sit ACCA examinations must:
- Register with ACCA as a studens - Register to sit specific exams with ACCA (you will be sent an exam entry form once you have registered with ACCA).
Please note that enrolling on a BCA course does not enrol with ACCA.

Key Dates ACCA Exam Dates There are two exam sittings each year - June - December
ACCA Registration Deadlines You must register with ACCA by: - 31 December – for June exams - 15 August – for December exams
ACCA Exam Entry Deadlines You must register to sit exams by: -15 April – for June exams -15 October – for December exams
Exemption Application Deadlines To request exemptions, you must apply by: - 31 January – for June exams - 31 July – for December exams
Please note that the registration, exemptions and examination dates are approximate and are subject to change hence should be checked with the ACCA.

Further to the new changes imposed by the UKBA on 04 July 2011, Bristol College of Accountancy will continue to teach it's existing ACCA students with valid visa. These students will be able to continue their studies as normal until the end of their course or visa (whichever comes first).
