BSc (Hons) In Applied Accounting. . .

Background

This is an exclusive degree offered to ACCA students through a unique and innovative collaboration between ACCA and Oxford Brookes University Business School.

This Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting is awarded by Oxford Brookes University and has been jointly developed by the university and the ACCA. This degree is based on practical, professional and employer-driven requirements and is highly regarded by the industry.

Eligibility

Students who successfully complete the ACCA FUNDAMENTALS modules (9 papers in total) are eligible to apply for this degree, provided they submit and pass the required course work.

Students who have obtained exemption from certain ACCA papers are also eligible to apply for this degree, but, if they have received exemptions from papers F7, F8 and F9  they will be required to give up their exemption and sit ACCA exams for the relevant paper.

Students will also be required to demonstrate proficiency in English.

Degree Requirements

To obtain this degree, students must:

  • Register with ACCA.

  • Pass the required ACCA exam papers (F1 to F9).

  • Select and complete a Research and Analysis Project based on a Report (of 5,000 words) and a Key Skills Statement (of 1,500 words).

  • Identify and work with a mentor.

Our Mentoring Service

It is a direct requirement from Oxford Brookes University that all students who wish to submit a Research and Analysis Project must have a mentor and schedule formal meetings with this mentor during the period when the Project is being written.

At BCA, we have experienced academics who can act as mentors to any students who wish to undertake the Oxford Brookes degree.

Your mentor will oversee your progress, meet with you during the Project period, and offer advice when and where required.

Mentoring cost at BCA is only £250 for BCA students and £275 for non-BCA students.

Duration

Majority of the students will generally complete this degree in 18 months.

Others Requirements

Since essentially a student is enrolling to study the ACCA papers, the enrolment requirements are the same as for ACCA. Please see our ACCA page for further details on registrations, exemptions, exam and term dates.

Further to the new changes imposed by the UKBA on 04 July 2011, Bristol College of Accountancy will continue to teach it's existing ACCA students with valid visa. These students will be able to continue their studies as normal until the end of their course or visa (whichever comes first).

We are monitoring the situation and will keep this page updated with the latest developments.
